The High Efficient Aluminium Purification Return Launder Type In-line Rotory Degassing Unit (LDU) is built to offer a higher degassing success rate. It features degassing rotors installed between the melting furnace and casting machine, in the similar direction of the launder. Plus, it further acquires a degassing region composed of some parts for multilevel in-line degassing. The number of rotors used in the operation depends on the volume of molten aluminium. To purify the molten metal, degassing agents such as Mg, Al, Ca are brought into contact with inert gas such as argon and nitrogen.
High degassing efficiency, above 40% makes it attractive to all potential users. Adopting multi-zone continuous degassing increases the contact surface and contact time between bubbles and molten aluminum, while the sealed design maintains an inert headspace above the molten aluminum surface during the entire casting period, preventing more slag to eliminate secondary pollution and improve degassing efficiency.
Low use cost and maintenance frequency make it economic and reliable. The molten aluminum heating and holding system is removed, reducing consumption. Launders are adopted for degassing, reducing the residual amount of molten aluminum and the loss of metal, and also offers low maintenance cost, convenient and fast replacement of launders.
Easy to install, this system is space-saving with small size and low weight. It does not require any structures or foundation to be installed, therefore a short period of time is required for on-site commissioning, reducing production downtime.
Convenient for alloy conversion, it does not have any heating device or deep box, so at the end of per casting most degassed metal can be made into a product, eliminating the residual aluminum liquid in the degassing tank and offering a rapid alloy Conversion.
In addition, this casting technology is easy to operate with no special starting procedure, a simple molten aluminum drainage device and simple working conditions. It is especially suitable for semi-continuous casting lines for the production of cast rods and renewable aluminum ingots.

The maximum temperature of molten aluminum is 750℃. The launder shell surface temperature should not exceed 60℃. The service launder lining life is expected to be no less than 12 months. The speed of the rotor should be between 100-600 revolutions per minute (rpm). High-purity nitrogen (N2) and argon (Ar) are used as the inert gases. The degassing efficiency at the inlet hydrogen content not greater than the maximum flow rate should be ≤0.30ml/100gAl, and when the aluminum liquid is between 700-740 ℃, the hydrogen content after degassing should be ≤0.22ml/100g. The degassing efficiency when the inlet hydrogen content is greater than 0.30ml/100g-Al is expected to be greater than 35%. Lastly, the power supply should be 380V AC 50Hz, ≤10KVA.
